Volunteer Information

Regular Volunteers
|
Regular volunteers contribute time on a regular weekly basis to help maintain the rescue, complete and file paperwork, manage special projects and more. These volunteers usually dedicate at least 4 hours each week to Rattie Ratz. Regular volunteers usually come to us with a solid background in general animal handling and maintenance but we usually need to train them in the proper interaction and handling of scared, aggressive, and/or traumatized animals.

Casual Volunteers
|
Casual volunteers are trained on a spur of the moment basis and generally assist with manning special events, basic paperwork, answering general questions, setting up and breaking down events, and crowd control. Casual volunteers schedule a time to come and help with something and are trained on the spot when they arrive. We also have casual volunteers who help out on a regular basis but it may only be 1 or 2 times per month. We appreciate and encourage any amount of volunteer service!

Volunteer Areas

We need volunteers in every aspect of Rattie Ratz! Some areas that need help include: adoptions, clerical, foster care, education, outreach, TLC, special event, special resources, student interns, pet projects, adoption host, online shopper, quarantine home, and transport volunteers.
