How to adopt companion animals through Rattie Ratz
Check out our website:
Now that you are here, please take a moment to check out what we have to offer our potential adopters. Before choosing to adopt through us, please review our adoption requirements, applicable fees, and our adoption contract.

Contact us:
Once you have decided that pet rats are your companions of choice and that you would like to adopt from us, please contact us. Let us know what you think about the site and what your ideas are towards adopting rats. We will send you an application for you to fill out and return to us and we will review it prior to approving your adoption.

Find some potential companions:
Check out our available animals on Petfinder. We try our best to list everyone available but, should you not find suitable potential rats to adopt, please let us know what you are looking for so that we can tell you about any rats that are in our foster system but not yet on petfinder.

Commit to the responsibility:
We hope this is self explanatory but please think twice about bringing rats or any companion animals into your family. They need you to commit to their care just like you would commit to the care of your children. Being caged pets, they are unable to fend for themselves and are completely reliant on you. Rats are a 2-3+ year commitment. They need fresh food and water daily, cleaning at least once a week, and at least 30 minutes of play time daily. Although they do not need licenses or vaccines, they DO need to see the vet when ill and we expect that you will properly care for their needs as they age. Please review the proper care of pet rats and be prepared for the responsibility that comes with caring for a companion animal.

Finalize the adoption:
When the aforementioned steps have been completed, we can arrange for you to meet with your potential adoptees and finalize the adoption. This will conclude with your acceptance and signing of the adoption contract and being permitted to bring your new companions home with you!
