Rattie Ratz always has many small animals seeking responsible guardians. In an effort to ensure a lifelong commitment, our adoption process strives to make the best possible match between you and your new small animal companion. We do our best to match the animal's needs and temperament with the adopter's lifestyle and interests. We place hundreds of small animals in loving homes every year and are proud to say most adoptions result in lifelong relationships.

The adoption procedure is very straightforward. The easiest method is to simply show up at one of our monthly adoption events and hook up with an adoption volunteer who will guide you through the painless process of completing some paperwork, selecting your new companions, and reviewing general care guidelines. If you find that you are unable to attend one of our scheduled events, you may contact the adoption coordinator in your area (information located on our main page) and request a private adoption appointment.

Potential adopters are more than welcome to stop by at any of our adoption fairs and events to view animals available for adoption. Please keep in mind that we do not bring all of our available animals to the events so if you are looking for a particular type of animal, please contact us in advance to see if we have anyone to match your needs. The entire adoption process takes about an hour if you come to an adoption event. If you are hoping to adopt an animal at one of our events, please remember to bring a carrier for your new companions. You should also allocate at least 1.5 hours to complete the process because there may be other potential adopters scheduled before you.

Welcome Back!!

Welcome Back! is a program available to all of our adoptive families. Although we try our best to ensure an excellent match, there are certain things that are beyond our control. If, for any reason, you need to rehome an animal adopted from our organization, we welcome our animals back with open arms. Please do not abandon your adopted animal or take it to a humane society where it may not be given a chance at finding another home. Contact us to arrange to bring your adopted animal back to Rattie Ratz.
